The Range Rover Sport in Dubai
The Range Rover Sport is the completely redesigned new shape, and it is the version that made the Sport desirable again. The 3.0 litre mild hybrid inline-6 produces 360 horsepower, enough to move it from 0 to 100 in under six seconds while staying quiet and smooth at a Sheikh Zayed Road cruise. The air suspension and all-wheel steering shrink the car around you, so it feels closer to a sports saloon than a full-size SUV when the road opens up toward Hatta or Al Qudra.
Ours is Fuji White over a burgundy leather interior with the black contrast roof and black wheels, the exact specification people photograph outside the hotels on Palm Jumeirah. The cabin is the same reductive design as the flagship Range Rover: a single curved screen, soft leather everywhere, and a panoramic roof that keeps the car bright even in tinted-window Dubai. Five adults travel in genuine comfort and the boot takes a family's airport luggage without folding anything.
